I fell in love with yoga the first time I came to the mat but never in my wildest dreams did I think I would become a teacher. In hindsight, the path of Yoga chose me and it is still the guiding force in my life.
A desire to expand my knowledge and build a sustainable practice led me to my first training. Adam and Akash Bornstein instilled in me a strong traditional spiritual foundation as found in the Hatha tradition. This gave me the knowledge to practice and teach all aspects of yoga including pranayama, asana and meditation whilst continuing to use the other limbs for my own personal growth.
It was during this first training that I became aware of the transformational power of yoga. The teachings reached deep into my heart and nurtured me in ways I never imagined possible. My love for and fascination with yoga continued to grow.
Whilst travelling overseas I met a San Francisco based teacher, Les Leventhal. In that first class with Les, I laughed and cried, he took me into poses I never thought my body was capable of and he also showed me how humbling this practice can be…..I had met my next teacher, I did not know how or when, but I knew that Les had things to teach me. The universe agreed and a year later I was blessed to spend a month training with Les in Bali. This has been one of the most profound experiences of my life….never have I worked so hard to grow physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually…and I loved every second of it.
Ultimately, my own being has been my best teacher. I have integrated two very different trainings into my practice and teaching, staying true to the traditional spiritual teachings whilst embracing the modern evolution of asana.
My classes are an opportunity to grow, rejuvenate, discover and to completely LET GO! I will encourage you to breathe, to release self-imposed limitations, to breathe, to get to know yourself and see how uniquely amazing you are…and to breathe. Allow me to guide you in a journey into every corner of your being, to release tension, fatigue, and stress and leave you resting in that sweet, sweet blissful radiance that is your heart.
You can share a class with me at a studio (link – timetable). I am also available for private training, yoga therapy sessions and to facilitate workshops for corporate trainings. Feel free to contact me (link) to introduce yourself so that we can have a chat about what you would like to receive from your session.
I believe in living my yoga. My family and I have created our own Garden of Eden where we grow as much of our own food as we can. We have been planting fruit trees for years and we no longer need to plant herbs as they grown wild around the garden. We have a tribe of chickens that happily wander around the property and share their fresh organic eggs with us. This gives us a sustainable lifestyle connected to the rhythms of nature. We aim to be part of the change we hope to see for the world.
I support individuals along their own healing journey through the ancient art of KaHuna Bodywork. Have you had a KaHuna ? Read more here (link)
